Therapy is like physical training for the mind. You don’t walk into the gym for the first time and expect to bench press 300 pounds. Or, run a 20K marathon having never put on a pair of running shoes. Reaching your goals requires practice, motivation, and willingness to take on new challenges. Having someone to walk beside you, provide encouragement, help build confidence, show compassion, and offer support increases your ability to succeed.

However, reaching out for help isn't always easy. Anxiety, depression, and life's issues can leave us feeling weakened and stuck. This can lead to feelings of failure, hopelessness, and lowered self-worth. It takes bravery to recognize you need support. In deciding to take that step, you have made a decision to take responsibility for your own well-being.
